Two Academic Publications confirm Cadweb cost savings and that many Extranets have limited usefulness thus produce limited benefits - March 2011
There have been 2 interesting academic papers published recently which clarify the current state of the Project Extranet Market. The first published in the Global Journal of Researches in Engineering titled. ‘The Current Construction Project Extranet Practices in the Construction Industry’ by Hung-JuChien and Stephen Barthrope endorses Cadweb’s published cost saving calculations by confirming that they concur with their own independent research.
The second slightly older paper published by Marek Suchocki titled “Construction Industry Collaboration Challenges” sets out the limited benefits that can be attained by the use of the current products on offer in the Extranet market.

Comparing Extranet performance - October 2010
For years now all of us Project Extranet providers have used statistics to support the proposition that our applications are extremely useful and beneficial to a project and its client. We have all used the large volumes of data generated to validate the performance of our products. As these figures have all been selected to highlight the desired results they are all slightly different, therefore incompatible with each other when it comes to making comparisons between the systems. Reliable, objective comparisons are notoriously hard to calculate.

Helped by the clear, complete and undisputed audit trail, the client was able to negotiate a settlement just before Christmas in excess of £10,000,000 without having to go to court!

Cadweb is appointed by Prupim on its Birmingham Wholesale Markets Project - September 2009
Cadweb is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by Prupim to provide the Electronic Project Information Management role on its Birmingham Wholesale markets project. The £100 million scheme involves moving the markets from their current location in Digbeth three miles away to The Hub near the M6 in Witton. The scheme is set to create 200 extra jobs and should help the city become a regional centre for food excellence and even a food tourism destination.

Cadweb continues to grow strongly in 2008 - January 2009
Cadweb will record another good set of financial results in 2008 with very strong growth in turnover and profits, all despite the Credit Crunch. Prospects for 2009 and 2010 also look very positive with the order book already exceeding the 2008 figure. While the Credit Crunch is bound to have an effect, the company is looking to take advantage of its strong financial position to capitalise on any opportunities that the downturn may produce.

Cadweb to be used on the new Laboratory of Molecular Biology for the Medical Research Council - July 2008
Cadweb.net is being used by the Medical Research Council for the development of their new Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. The Council has recently secured government funding for the redevelopment of this world renowned laboratory which has won a total of 13 Nobel Prizes.

Cadweb’s new version 7 is scheduled for launch in January 2006. In it's 17th September 2005 edition The Economist Magazine published an article entitled ‘Death to Folders’. In this article the magazine describes how the latest operating systems do away with the old static folder structure, replacing it with ‘Tagged Files’ and ‘Smart Folders’.

Cadweb celebrated it’s 10th Birthday! - April 2005
On 21st April 1995 Cadweb was born. 10 years later and here we are......still! Cadweb started in the proverbial Garage, actually Chris Newman’s bedroom with a PC running Windows 3.11: 16 Mg of RAM: 80 Mg of hard disk and a dream. Today Cadweb is managing over 2 Gigabytes of data a day and is a thriving established business with a very rosy future.

Cadweb produces the first actual cost savings figures - January 2005
One of the biggest problems in the case for implementing a Project Extranet has been demonstrating real cost savings the system will generate for a client and project. The classic method of cost justification has been to use theoretical print and postal usage and estimate how employing an Extranet might reduce this.
